The first time I did NFB- I hated it! I was really mad at you for even suggesting that I do it! I think one of the biggest challenges for me was getting past the feeling "special" After all I was sitting in a chair with electrodes attached to my head, wires hanging from my ears- it's not as though I had friends that had gone through it or that I could commiserate with. Sometimes it was feeling like I had to "perform well."
Also, having worked with roughly 6 technicians over the years, my attitude/performance depended somewhat on how much I liked them, how comfortable I felt with them.
I don't know that I ever completely got over all my stumbling blocks but it did get better! I started to recognize times when I could function in spite of stress, nights when I slept longer and more deeply, etc. and it became more of a "want" to do, wanting to feel that way again.
