Independent Medical Examinations (IME)
Dr. Nilsson frequently participates as a Clinical Neuropsychologist in administering Independent Medical Examinations (IME) or sometimes referred to as Independent Neuropsychological Examinations. These are requested by insurance companies or other agencies to develop a more complete understanding of an individual’s functional capacity, the level and nature of their disability, identifying physical, neurocognitive, and neurobehavioral deficits, offering specific documentation of disability and specific recommendations relative to ongoing clinical support as necessary and requested. In an effort to access disability benefits, some exaggerate or distort symptoms. There may be multiple contributions to reported disability.
